Chloroprene Rubber (CR) is produced by the emulsion polymerization of chloroprene, also known as polychloroprene. It is one of the earliest synthetic rubbers developed and researched. Since its introduction in the early 20th century, CR has been widely applied across numerous industries due to its well-balanced performance. It is known for excellent resistance to oxygen, oil, and heat, which significantly extends service life in harsh environments.
Main Features:
- Good resistance to heat, weathering, ozone, oil, and flame, as well as good adhesion.
- Excellent resistance to bending fatigue, twisting, and compression set.
- Can withstand long-term immersion in water or burial in soil.
- In formulated compounds, offers good resistance to many chemicals.
- Excellent adhesion to metal and various materials, with high bonding strength.
- Naturally flame-resistant.
- Possesses physical properties similar to NR (Natural Rubber) and maintains considerable strength even without fillers.
Main Applications:
- Adhesives.
- Rubber belts, window seals, heat-resistant conveyor belts, and rubber hoses.
- Industrial products requiring resistance to wear, oil, and weathering.
- Electrical wires and cables, automotive parts, and drag cable components.
- Extruded products such as rubber tubes, water hoses, and chemical-resistant pipes.
- Construction sealing materials, highway joint fillers, bridge expansion joints, caulking compounds, and underwater sealing materials.
- Flame-retardant rubber products.
