What is Silicone Compression Molding?
Silicone compression molding is a widely used manufacturing process that involves material preparation, mixing, mold compression, curing, demolding, trimming, and quality inspection to produce silicone products characterized by high temperature resistance, low temperature flexibility, aging resistance, thermal shock resistance, waterproofness, transparency, and softness. This silicone processing technology finds extensive applications across various industries including electronics, medical devices, toys, automotive components, and more.

Silicone Compression Molding Process
Mold and material preparation
The quality and precision of the mold directly affect the final product's quality, and the selection of silicone material is equally critical. Prior to mass production, we ensure that both material choice and mold design meet the customer's functional and durability requirements for the product.
Silicone pre-processing
Prior to production, the silicone raw material undergoes pre-processing. Based on the performance requirements of the product, compounding agents are added and thoroughly mixed to achieve uniform dispersion of all components, resulting in silicone compound that meets production standards. The material is then cut into appropriate sizes and weights to prepare it for the subsequent molding process.
Mold filling
The pre-processed silicone material is placed into the preheated and cleaned mold cavity. After the mold is closed, the press applies specific pressure to ensure the silicone material fully and tightly fills the mold cavity, guaranteeing the shape and dimensional accuracy of the product.
Heating and curing
The heated mold cures the silicone material. The curing temperature typically ranges between 150°C and 200°C, and the duration depends on the specific properties of the silicone and the complexity of the mold.
Demolding and cooling
Once curing is complete, mold and the products cool down. This can be done through natural cooling-or for a faster turnaround, using the mold's built-in cooling system to turbocharge production efficiency!
Post-processing and inspection
After the products cool down, remove them from the mold. During the demolding process,be careful to avoid damaging the products.Any excess material is trimmed or removed.Quality inspectors will conduct defect inspections on products to ensure that the products delivered to you meet high-quality standards.
